I have certainly learnt a huge amount
The whole day was excellent and the folk from Moto Gymkhana were great instructors and imparted lots of advice, tips and guidance. I have certainly learnt a huge amount and feel more confident with my slow speed skills than before today.
Can I also say thanks to the two firefighters who were on site all day? They looked after us really well and made sure we were well provided for with teas and coffees!
Thanks again for a great day.
Never stop learning
Please pass on Norrie’s and my Thanks to the training team today. A great course.. and even after 70 years on a motorbike.. never stop learning
Thank you
Just wanted to say a massive thank you for organising today’s MotoGymkhana. I cannot believe how much I’ve enjoyed it! The lovely GymKhana team put me out of my comfort zone and connected me with my bike on levels that I didn’t expect
Absolutely brilliant day!
I learned loads of new skills that I can adapt into everyday riding, especially when it comes to slow-speed control and building confidence with leaning the bike. The Motogymkhana style was a fun challenge and really helped sharpen my focus and technique. Thanks
Thoroughly enjoyable
It was well organised, professionally run and thoroughly enjoyable. There are so many training courses out there and I have attend most of them including completing my IAM, but the slow riding day is probably the most practicable one I have been on.
A fantastic day
Jack was there on the SV650 making as much noise as he could – he was only there for wheelies and stoppies it seemed, oddly they weren’t part of the course but he never stopped smiling!
Plenty of folks out there can ride fast (or think they can), but you only have to see them parking at a cafe/pub to know they’ve no idea when it comes to low speeds. I’ve no idea how they get around mini roundabouts etc. (spoiler – it’s easy if you imagine there’s a cone there!).
Variety of courses is key, I think. Best part of the day was when Paul swapped the slalom course out for something a bit more sporty, it gave you that feeling of the sport element of MG, rather than it just being a learning exercise. It happened just as we were starting to get a bit bored and the mind was switching off. Accelerating as fast as you can then stopping HARD is great fun but, accidentally, you’re learning about your bike and your abilities more. Learning as a side effect is often the best way.
JTC is a brilliant place to train, let’s hope that continues. I don’t know where to start looking for a place we could do it here (Doncaster) and I’m not someone who can just walk into a building where there’s a big car park to ask if we can use it on a Sunday! Hopefully something will crop up one day.
We’re not nervous when we rock up there now. The first time we were – worried we’d be no good or that folks with leathers with knee sliders would look down on us etc. I think Iain made a nice comment early on that “It’s ok to be a bit crap”. That would have taken the pressure off for a few I think. T shirt design for 2026 should say ”Moto Gymkhana – where it’s ok to be a bit crap”
maybe with my picture next to it as proof?…
Overall, organisation is great, people are friendly, helpful and laugh if you get it right or if you cock it up on a run, they don’t seem bothered either way. Being able to do what you want, when you want, have a break when you want etc., all makes it a relaxing experience.
All the best to everyone involved in the prep and running of these things. Roll on next year.
thanks
You asked for some feedback
It’s addictive, fun, creative and an absolute blast to be on your bike testing yourself and your abilities. Learning is best when you’re having fun.
It’s not something you want to do just once, doing it regularly builds on your skills each time.
You also find yourself talking to other riders, reflecting on your experiences and using that to help the little MG community grow and spread.
Crew members were fantastic
Priceless stuff, yet it costs buttons to attend.
A fantastic time
Hi just to say had a fantastic time can’t beat learning new skills even at my age 61 keep it up can’t wait for next time
Professional, knowledgeable & patient.
I’ve learned new skills which I will practice every time I go out and and pass on to my friends and more importantly encourage them to enrol on this course.
Please also pass on my thanks to the MotoGymkhana team, so professional,
knowledgeable, and patient and although we were there to learn and improve our skills seemed to be able to make it fun.

Thanks for a great day yesterday at moto gymkhana I’ve learnt new skills and gained more confidence in slow speed handling Thanks again for a great day it’s something I will hopefully do again
Should do more of these
Brilliant day again, you should do a lot more of these to allow either more new people to experience and learn from or previous attendees to practice the skills that could 1 day save their lives Keep up the great work With thanks

Hope to see you booth soon again!
Thank you
The whole experience was good, your team did a fantastic job, I was only expecting there to be ten or so participants but there must have been over thirty and everyone felt they were having a one to one.
